Elizabeth Niksich

Director

When AIDS first became a part of the health care narrative in the 1980’s, Elizabeth was beginning her career working in hospital fitness, going to graduate school at the University of Central Florida, and dating. The fear and ignorance surrounding this deadly disease left an indelible mark on her feelings toward helping those who were afflicted and in educating everyone about prevention. After working for almost three decades in health care, Elizabeth jumped at the chance to join the Board of Directors of THE COLUMN AWARDS to help raise funds for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.

Elizabeth has worked for Texas Health Resources Presbyterian Hospital for over 15 years and for the past 7 years as the Fitness Manager at Lennox International in Richardson, TX. She is a certified personal trainer, group fitness instructor and choreographer, and mom to two talented actor sons.

Elizabeth embraced volunteerism within the DFW Theatre Community as a family experience with the entire Niksich Team selling concessions, ushering, running box office, lights, or tech or cleaning up after a show whenever the boys aren’t performing. Three years ago, Elizabeth offered to volunteer at the GALA and in the process came to know the force of John Garcia and his tireless efforts supporting DFW Theater. THE COLUMN GALA offers DFW a glittery night of seeing friends from past shows, of celebrating the best of the year, and for remembering those who are no longer with us. “It is for the latter that we need to always work together and help everyone on this journey of life”.
